Speakers from EAMinded Toronto:

Topics of Discussion

Bill Carrick will discuss the importance of understanding asset management standards and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems’ out-of-the-box (OOTB) functionality. The presentation will explore relevant frameworks around which to design EAM systems.  It will also review how asset data governance and management fit into the EAM equation.  Bill will discuss the advantages of using OOTB EAM, emphasizing that it is cost-effective, allows for faster implementation, and reduces complexity. He will also explore why it is important to understand when the organization’s needs are unique and how unique requirements might limit other benefits. Bill encourages attendees to challenge themselves and their organizations to understand why they do things in a certain way and to engage in a dialogue about the relationship between unique needs.

Phillip Bragg will walk through the latest enhancements in EAM 12.X. This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of the new features, focusing on how they can drive efficiency and innovation within your organization. Phillip will highlight key updates, demonstrating practical applications and benefits that align with your business objectives. Whether you’re looking to streamline operations, improve asset management, or enhance decision-making capabilities, this session will equip you with the knowledge to leverage EAM 12.X effectively. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay ahead of the curve and maximize the potential of your EAM system.

Mary Cranfill will explore the critical role of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) procurement in enhancing asset lifecycle data, emphasizing the integration of systematic procurement processes and standardized parts to ensure comprehensive data collection. It highlights the benefits of comparing services and parts across different assets and asset groups to achieve consistency, cost efficiency, and risk management. Additionally, the presentation addresses the negative impacts of ineffective MRO procurement, such as fragmented data, inconsistent maintenance records, and increased risks of asset failure. Drawing on the Institute of Asset Management (IAM). ISO 55000 guidelines, and case studies, the presentation demonstrates how effective MRO procurement can optimize asset performance, reduce costs, and manage risks throughout the asset lifecycle.

Bruce Chaplin will explore the transformative potential of digital twin technology in the rail and transit sectors. He will explain how digital twins, which integrate real-time data, IoT, and AI, enhance operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness by enabling predictive maintenance and optimized resource management. Bruce will highlight successful case studies, demonstrate implementation strategies, and discuss future innovations, emphasizing the importance of embracing digital twins to create smarter, more reliable, and efficient rail and transit networks.

Donovan McKillop will emphasize the importance of balancing performance, cost, and risk to maximize the value of assets. Key topics include selecting data projects that create value, with examples such as improving data capture for a bus operator using the VMRS standard. The presentation also covers initiatives in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Asset Management (AM) Planning, highlighting how industry standards and EAM features contribute to better performance, effective risk management, and cost justification.

Join Bill Carrick for an insightful facilitated dialog focused on the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing out-of-the-box EAM solutions. This session will encourage participants to share their experiences with standard EAM configurations, discussing both the hurdles and the benefits. We will explore how these solutions can be effectively tailored to meet specific organizational needs while leveraging best practices. The dialog aims to provide valuable insights into maximizing the potential of out-of-the-box EAM systems to support sustainable asset management practices and drive business success.

Join Bill Carrick in a facilitated dialog delving into the challenges and opportunities associated with asset data to help you progress on your asset management maturity journey. This session encourages sharing of both obstacle and success that customers have in understanding their state of asset data, implementing models to govern it, and ultimately managing to empower mature asset management practices and leverage emerging technologies like predictive analytics, AI, and prescriptive maintenance.
